Updating Dispute Status

Procedure

From the Search Disputes screen, you can update the dispute status, status reason, and add comments for up to 200 disputes at one time.

To update dispute status:

  1. From the Main menu, select Dispute Management.
    The Search Dispute screen displays a list of pending disputes for which you are the resolver The resolver is the contact defined by the notification setup who is assigned to resolve the dispute. If you do not set up a notification ruleset, then the invoice owner is assigned as the resolver..

  2. Select the check box for up to 200 disputes for which you want to make the same status change.

  3. Click Update Dispute Status.
    A dispute status pop-up screen appears.

  4. Update the dispute from the following lists:

    • Dispute Status

    • Status Reason

    • Category

    • Cause

    • Type

With the exception of Status Reason, click the Edit check box to enable the list for a particular field.

  1. Optionally, add a note and Subject line.

Tip:  This note will be added for all the selected invoices, and is available from the Collection Activity and Invoice details screen as well as from the Dispute Management module.

  1. Click Save.
    When you click Save, the following occur:

    • If there is a notification ruleset for dispute updates, e-mail notification is sent to the dispute resolver and to any secondary dispute contact determined by the rules set up by your business administrator

    • If there is a strategy branch defined for the new dispute status, that branch is triggered.

    • eCredit validates that the total of all disputes and any promises for the invoice is not greater than the invoice amount due.

    • The original dispute record is available as history.
