Allocating Credit Lines to Your Business Units

Overview

Using the Operating Characteristics method, you allocate approved credit lines for a customer to your internal divisions with which the customer does business. Before allocating to a customer using the Operating Characteristics method, ensure that the operating divisions or business units are added for the customer. You use the Operating Characteristics feature of the Customer Analysis module to do this.

Allocation Limit

Allocation Limit is the highest amount you can allocate in one transaction. Your business administrator sets your allocation limit on your User Profile screen.

Validations for allocating

To allocate, or to edit or delete an allocation, using the Operating Characteristics method, your allocation limit must be equal to or greater than the allocation amount.

When changing an allocation, the validation is done against both the original allocated amount and the revised allocation amount.

Note: E-mail notification is not done for allocations made to your business units, only for allocations to accounts in business hierarchies.
