Changing Work Queue Task and Action Item Information

Procedures

You can change the status, due date, priority, and description, for a task, or for any of the task's action items.

When you change information for an overdue action item, you cannot save the changes unless you also change the action item due date to be equal to or greater than the current date. When changing information for an overdue task, there is no requirement to update the due date.

Before you can change the status of a task to completed, you must mark any associated action items as completed. How?

To change manual task information:

  1. Locate the work queue task. How?

  2. In Search Results, select view/edit in the row for the work queue task.
    The Work Queue Task Details screen appears.

  3. Change the information.

Note:  When you change the status of a task to completed, the task is automatically removed from the work queue.

  1. Click Save.

You can also add action items How?

To change action item information:

  1. Locate the work queue task that has the action item you want to change. How?

  2. Select view/edit in the row for the work queue task.
    The Work Queue Task Details screen appears. The Action Items section list all action items associated with the task. Any action items appearing in red text are overdue.

  1. In the Action Items section, select view/edit in the row for the action item for which you want to change information.
    The Action Item Details screen appears.

  2. Change information for the action item. You can change the status, priority, due date, and description for the action item.

Notes:  

    • If you change the status field to Complete, the action item is removed from view.

    • The due date for the action item cannot be later than the due date for the associated task.

  1. Click Save.

To return to the Work Queue Task Details screen, click Cancel.
