Completing Action Items

Overview

You can complete actions from the Work Queue Summary or from the Collection Activity screens. On the Collection Activity screen, the action item view you are in determines the actions that are completed.

Complete actions from Collection Activity using the Latest Action Item per Invoice view

Note: The status of the latest action item (the action item that is displayed) is changed to Complete, while the status of the past due action items (that are not displayed) is changed to System Completed to indicate that these actions were not actually performed.

Conversion to a batch process

On the Work Queue Summary and the Collection Activity screen (when in Distinct customer action item view) the number of actions being completed can exceed 1000. When this occurs, the completion is converted to a batch processing job that executes during the nightly collection processing.

When a customer is scheduled for batch action item completion the following occur:

  • Your work queue summary totals are not updated until the completion occurs.

  • The customer's work queue information appears in blue text to indicate that the customer's action items are marked for batch completion.

  • The Complete button is disabled for that customer until the nightly processing occurs.

  • You can perform collection activities for the customer while the action item completion is pending.

Tip:  An administrator can view details for the job status using the Bulk Action Completion feature of the Admin module.

Which action items are completed for a batch job

The action items that are completed for the batch job are the action items that are in the Work Queue at the time the batch job occurs.

For example, if an action item that is in the work queue at the time the bulk completion is scheduled is removed by creating a follow-up action for it before the batch job executes, that action is not part of the batch processing.
