Editing Financial Statement Information

Procedure

To edit income statement or balance sheet information:

  1. Select the customer. How?

  2. Select the Financial Analysis tab.
    The Financials screen appears.

  3. Do one of the following:

    1. To edit a single statement, select view/edit in the row for the statement to be changed.
      The Financial Details screen appears.

    2. To edit up to three statements, select the check boxes in the rows for the statements and click Multiple Edit.
      The Financial Details screen displays the statements you selected (up to three).

  4. To view a prior statement on screen to guide your edits, select the statement from the Select Prior Statement list. The Select Prior Statement list includes any statements that are prior to the statements you are editing.
    The Prior Statement column displays the entries for the statement you select.

  5. Enter information in the appropriate fields.

Notes:  

    1. When doing 'what if" analysis, to calculate totals, ratios, and percentages without saving the entries to the database, click Calculate after entering your projections. You can export or print these projections before entering the values you want to save to the database.

    2. You can disable the calculation of summary line items for downloaded abridged financial statements by clearing the selection from Calculate Summary Line Items. More  

    3. If a financial statement does not include both a balance sheet and income statement, clear the selection from Financial Completed. When Financial Completed is cleared, eCredit does not calculate ratios and cash flow for the statement as these calculations would be inaccurate.

Note:  When doing 'what if" analysis, to calculate totals, ratios, and percentages without saving the entries to the database, click Calculate after entering your projections. You can export or print these projections before entering the values you want to save to the database.

  1. Click Save.
    eCredit calculates the totals, ratios, and percentages.

Note:  If Check Balance Sheet is selected, eCredit validates that the balance sheet entry for Total Assets equals the sum of the entries for Total Liabilities and Owner's Equity.

From this screen you can also:

    • Add Comments for the statement. How?

    • Export the statement. How?

    • Print the statement. How?
