Expiring Effective Credit Lines

Overview

You can manually expire an effective credit line. This can be used in the following situations:

  • If eCredit is set up to enable deleting of approved credit lines, you must first expire the credit line before you can delete it.

  • If eCredit is set up to prohibit modifying approved credit lines, and you need to change approved credit line information, you can manually expire the credit line. After manually expiring the credit line, you can create a new credit line with the correct information.

To expire a credit line you must be assigned to a role that includes this capability. Also, your business administrator may have set up eCredit to require that your approval authority must be equal to or greater than the credit line approved amount to expire the credit line.

When you manually expire a credit line, if your implementation includes a template for manual credit line expiration, an e-mail is automatically sent to all users who approved the credit line, notifying them of the expiration. If your implementation does not include a template, the credit line is expired but you receive a message informing you that the e-mail was not sent as a template is not defined. In this case, you can manually send an e-mail.
