Changing Promise Information

Procedure

To change promise information:

  1. Access the collection activities. How?

Note: If you are not in the 'All'  or "Latest Action Item per Invoice" views, select either of these views from the Action Item View list, and click Search. You cannot change promises when in the '"Distinct action items" view.

  1. Click the check box in a row for an invoice that contains a promise indicator ( , , , ). You can select up to 20 invoices across multiple pages.

  1. Click Promise.
    eCredit displays a summary row for each invoice that you selected in the Promise section.

  1. Select Promise Taken from the Status drop-down list.
    You can change promise information only when the promise status is Promise Taken.

  1. Change the promise information for one or more selected invoices:

    • Promise amount. If needed, you can enter a negative amount. You receive a warning if the amount entered is greater than the invoice amount due minus any outstanding promises or disputes.

    • Promise due date. The promise due date must be equal to or greater than the current date.

  2. Enter a note for the promise by clicking the note indicator, and entering text in the Add note section.

  3. Click Save to save the note.

  4. Optionally, when updating promise information for multiple invoices, determine whether you want to copy the changed information in one invoice to the remaining invoices.

click the Copy To All link in the Go To column for the invoice for which you made entries.

The application copies information (promise amount, due date, status, or notes) you entered for a selected invoice to the other invoices listed in the Promise section. The Promised amount is calculated as the amount due for the invoice minus any outstanding disputes or promises.

You can change any of the copied information.

  1. Click Save To save the updated promise information.
    If you change the promise status and your collections strategy has a branch of actions that start for that promise status, that branch will be activated in response to your entering the promise.
