Deferring Action Items

Procedure

To consolidate action item due dates for a customer so that the actions appear in your work queue on the same day, you can defer the action items to a date that you select.

The deferment applies to:

  • all current and past due action items in your work queue at the time the deferment is done.

  • all actions for the customer created when new invoices are loaded into eCredit if their due dates are before the 'deferred to' date.

  • both auto and collector tasks.

To consolidate action items so that they appear in your work queue on the same day, you can defer the actions.

To defer all action items in your work queue to a later date:

  1. On the Work Queue Summary screen, select the customers for whom you want to defer action items and click Defer By.
    A pop-up window appears.

  2. Do one of the following:

Then...

by a specific number of days

  1. Select the Number of Days option button and in the Defer By field, enter the number of days to delay the action items' due date.

  2. Click Save.

to a specific date

  1. Select the Future Date option button.

  2. Do one of the following:

    1. To select the date, select the Calendar icon, and from the pop-up calendar, select the date that you want the action items to be due.

The selected date is added to the Date field.

    1. Type the date in the Date field using the format yyyy-mm-dd.

  1. Click Save.

 Note: If the deferred to date is a non-working day, the next working day is used as the due date.

The deferred actions are removed from your work queue. They will appear again on the new due date. The totals in your work queue are updated to reflect the removed actions.
