Customizing the Customer Basic Screen

Overview

 

Use the View Designer feature to customize the display of the Basic screen in the Customer Analysis module. This section describes what you can customize on the Basic screen and how to customize it.

Certain fields and sections are locked. Locked fields are marked with a lock icon to indicate that they cannot be edited or hidden from view. For these fields, you can change only the position of the field on the screen.

You can make the following changes for the Basic screen fields:

  • Move any field except user-defined fields to any section except the Address Information section. The Address Information section is locked so that you cannot add or remove fields from it.

  • Move user-defined fields within their section.

  • If a field is not locked or user-defined you can edit the following:

    • The display label

    • Whether the field is mandatory

    • Whether the field is read-only

    • A default value for the field

  • You can hide any field except locked fields.

Screens are divided into sections that are identified by green title bars. On the Basic screen, the Address Information section is locked, meaning that you cannot add or remove fields from that section.

You can customize the following for screen sections:

  • The section title

  • Position of the section on the screen

  • Reposition the fields in all sections except Address Information

  • Set the default display of the section as minimized or maximized. When a section is minimized only the section header appears until you click the down arrow next to the title. Minimizing a section provides more space on the screen to view other data.

  • Hide a section so that it is not displayed. You can do this only for sections that do not include a locked field.
