Relative Weight

Overview

Relative weight is a value between 0 and 100 that indicates a confidence rating for a record relative to other records of the same type for the same customer. Higher numbers indicate a higher level of confidence that the record accurately reflects the customer's credit risk.

The value selected for this field is especially important if an automated decision process evaluates this type of reference information when generating a decision for a credit request.

When entering a relative weight for a record:

  • Indicate that a record has a higher confidence level by assigning it a higher value than others.

  • Indicate that each record has equal weight by splitting the weight evenly between the records.

  • Ensure that the relative weights for all records of the same type for the customer add up to 100.

  • If there is only one record, assign it a weight of 100.
