Customizing Fields on the Decision Screen

Procedure

From the View Designer feature, you can make the following changes for the Decision screen fields:

  • Reposition fields within their sections. On the Decision screen, you cannot move fields to another section.

  • If a field is not locked, or user-defined you can edit the following:

    • Whether the field is mandatory

    • Whether the field is read-only

    • A default value for the field

  • You can hide any field except locked fields.

Note: To change the display labels for fields on the Decision screen, use the Customize Package feature.

To customize fields on the Decision screen:

  1. Select Admin.
    The Admin Home Page appears.

  2. From the View Designer tab, select Edit Decision.
    The View Designer screen to customize the Decision screen appears.

  1. To edit any field that is not locked or user-defined:

    1. Click the field.
      The Edit icon appears.

    2. Click the Edit icon.
      The pop-up screen to edit the field appears.

    3. To make entering data for the field mandatory, select the Is Mandatory check box.

    4. To make the field read-only for all users, select the Is Read Only check box.

    5. To set a default value for the field, enter the value in the Default Value text box.

    6. To save these entries, click the save icon .

Note: To exit the pop-up screen without saving entries, click the cancel icon .

  1. To change the position of the field within its section:

Notes:

You cannot move a field to the first position. To move a field to the first position, move it to the second position and then move the first field to the second position.

    1. Click the field without releasing the mouse.
      A dotted black box containing the name of the field appears. This dotted black box moves with the mouse pointer.

Note:  If you need to scroll the screen to position the field, click the down arrow on your keyboard and the field at the same time. You can then use the keyboard up and down arrows to scroll the screen as you move the mouse.

    1. Move the mouse pointer to the target location. A dotted black box appears next to each field on the screen marking a position to which you can move the field. When you move the mouse over a dotted rectangle it becomes black to indicate that releasing the mouse will position the field in that location.

  1. To hide/restore fields that are not locked:

    1. Click the field without releasing the mouse.
      A dotted black box containing the name of the field appears.

    2. Drag the dotted black box to the Recycle Bin on the side of the View Designer screen.
      When the field is in the Recycle Bin it does not display on the screen for any customers.

    3. You can restore the field by clicking and dragging it from the Recycle Bin to any section of the View Designer screen.

  1. When you have completed making changes for the screen, click Save at the bottom of the View Designer screen.

Note: If you exit the screen without clicking the Save button, none of the changes you have made are saved.
