Resetting User Passwords

Procedure

The eCredit passwords you enter for a user must meet the following requirements:

  • Password must have at least eight and not more than fifteen characters.

  • Passwords must include a mix of letters and numbers.

  • Passwords must include at least one of the following special characters: ! @ # $ % &

  • When a user's password expires, you cannot use a password that is the same as the user's last x number of passwords. This number of passwords can be from 5 to 99 and is included in your subscriber setup.

To reset user passwords:

  1. Select Admin.
    The Admin Home Page appears.

  2. From the System Administration tab, select User Maintenance.
    The User Search screen appears.

  1. If the user whose password you want to reset does not appear on the screen, enter information to identify the user.

Note:  If you are a subscriber Administrator, and you do not select a source, the system searches for only subscriber users. If you do select a source, the system searches for only source users. The Source list is not available for Source Administrators.

  1. Click Search.
    The screen displays the users matching the information you enter.

  2. Select the option button in the row for the user whose password you want to reset.
    The Reset Password screen appears.

  3. In the New Password field enter the new password.

  4. In the Verify Password field, enter the new password again.

  5. Click Save.
    The user is required to change the password after using it to log in.
